Hi,
I am 10 days post treatment and still extremely sore in the main area.
I have so many different creams now I don’t know which ones are working the best.
Has anyone found that Sudocrem works on the raw areas ?
Jet xx
Hi Jet, it’s trial and error when using creams. You are still very much early post treatment and might be worth asking your team for some suitable cream for the raw areas. I did use sudocrem at some point and it did no harm. Unfortunately I was allergic to any silver based creams, honey based creams and simple aqueous creams. Lucky I did not have raw external areas but did have internal inflammation and green pus which wasn’t infected and apparently part of the healing. Our skin is all different and mine was a pain at times and I can’t even wear sun cream as my eyes flare up! The Sainsbury’s hypoallergenic baby Vaseline was a good barrier and my specialist nurse said you can’t beat good old fashioned Vaseline. You might be needing a cream that actually soaks up the slough from the wounds in which the flamigel range are usually prescribed. Good luck

Hello JET1414
As the others I found Flaminal Forte used in conjunction with Polymem dressings was best. You need to apply quick a thick layer of the cream and I stuck the Polymem dressings to it, I often lost the dressing when I used the loo but would just reapply cream and a fresh dressing so that I had continual cover.
I am hopeful that you will see a rapid improvement in the next few days and you will be out the other side of this treatment, just hang on in there, it won't be long now!

Hi JET1414 ,
I didn’t use sudocrem straight after treatment but was advised by my oncologist to use it at a later date when the new, healed skin would become rashy on occasion, my surgeon agreed with this advice as he said the new skin is akin to a baby’s skin & can can suffer something similar to nappy rash. I still use it now & again.
