3 Month Post Treatment

Hi everyone in this wonderful forum. I had my results from the 3 month MRI  scan last Friday and I was given the all year. To be honest, it hasn't really sunk in yet and I went into see the consultant full of anxiety and everything she said went straight over my head as it was too much to take in. I mentioned that I am still getting dull stomach pains and she checked my stomach but also said I needed a CT scan on my chest. She did explain why but I didn't take it all in. I wish I would have had somebody to come in with me. Has anybody else had to have a chest scan?

Many thanks

Jacqui

  • It is, but i try not to as there's nothing i can do. Xx

  • Congratulations on getting the all clear Jacqui xx

  • Thank you so much xx

  • Hello Jacqui

I think at consultations (especially following the first scan after treatment) there are quite a few of us who don't take anything in, such is the level of anxiety.  But that is really great news that everything is clear.  And if there are things you aren't sure about, please do ring the department, I have done in the past and the staff have mainly been really helpful.

I have chest scans but my situation is slightly different, I had secondaries in my lungs and they are keeping me under surveillance after treatment.  But the other forum members who have answered have them it as routine checks but I know it is still worrying.  I think we all dream of the day when we will be told no more scans and then our worry will be what if something develops!

  • I know. It is such a worry but I will have to call them department. Thank you for getting back

  • Absolutely delighted for you Jacqui.

Also I would give your specialist nurse a call she will be able to help with all of your questions.

  • Thank you Jo. I am going to do that xx

  • Huge congratulations Jacqui ( ) on your results! All of my surveillance scans consisted of a pelvic MRI & a chest, abdominal & pelvic CT so don’t stress yourself over the CT it’s quite normal. Also any questions you have jot them down & request a telephone consultation with your oncologist, I’m sure they won’t mind taking a few moments to answer your questions.

  • Thank you Nicola.  I feel quite relieved now to know the scans are normal.
