I have Anal cancer and have been applying Drapoline cream at every opportunity to my bottom and creases of my legs wear they’re blasting my lymph nodes. I’m always creamed when I go for treatment and don’t want my skin to dry out.  No one told me I shouldn’t do this but I’m so worried that I’ve blocked the Radiotherapy from sinking into my skin properly as I don’t seem to have a sore broken down bottom that so many have said has happened to them. Also can Radiotherapy work through clothing as sometimes my trousers are just below my buttocks.

Tomrrow 6th May is my 5 week then I have 3 more days and that’s  my treatment Radiotherapy/ Chemotherapy finished.

I will speak to the team tomorrow as I’m worried sick my treatment isn’t working properly.

Many thanks Helen

Congratulations more news to celebrate on the forum today!

I was 47 when diagnosed and may have been peri-menopausal, who knows!. I remember having hot flashes after treatment. I just assumed that the treatment had kicked my menopause off early however, after a few months they disappeared. A year later, I noticed I was putting on weight around my middle, even with lots of exercising, so I had a blood test which confirmed I was in menopause.

I’m now 49 and the only symptoms I seem to have at the mo is bloating and brain fog, I’ve noticed I’m becoming more forgetful. I also seem to have become very sensitive to noise, everything seems loud to me. Not sure if thats to do with the menopause or not though.

My mother had a bad time during menopause so I’m really hoping it won’t be the same for me.

I exercise a lot, try to eat healthy and take supplements but if anything changes I’ll be straight to the GP to try HRT.

    Enjoy your life of NED!
