Scans and medical appointments after treatment

Hi CJ62 well done on getting through the treatment. I'm nearly 2 years post and I had an mri  every 3 months post 2 cts and a PET plus a physical every 3 months in the first year. Year 2 I've had a physical every 3 months, an mri every 6 and a yearly ct. Every 3 month appointment has been with my oncologist. Good luck going back to work.  X

How amazing that you are going back to work, that should really give you a boost.  There is nothing quite like your life getting back into a familiar routine.

I think the frequency of the scans depend on the stage you were at when you were diagnosed.  Mine were always three months for the first three years.  I was stage IV, am four and a half years out of treatment and it was only earlier this year they increased the interval to a year with the proviso that if I was worried about anything at all I should call and make an appointment for a scan.  My meetings have always been with the oncologist, but then I have always been treated by a specialist cancer hospital.
