And no more days to mark off after today, you have finished!  So well done, and I am really pleased that you haven't had the painful loo visits which can be very testing.  You can use as much and as many creams as you want now.  I would carry on with the flamigel for the time being, and you may find if you use other creams it is best to choose non-perfumed ones, I, even now four years, occasionally use Sudocreme as my skin is still sensitive.

I am sorry I can't advise on travel insurance as our's came with our bank account.  Even then I wasn't covered for cancer but I took a chance and we went away anyway, I hasten to add I am not advising this!   There are companies who do offer cover and I am hoping you will get some suggestions.

Feeling down is totally understandable.  You have been through the trauma of finding out you have cancer, all the investigations and an intense regimen of treatment and of course it doesn't end there.  A cancer diagnosis changes us all and totally shakes our confidence in our health.  As time passes hopefully that confidence does return but often never as it was before - our new normal.

But in the meantime, be very kind to yourself, lots of rest and recuperation and get planning that break - sounds wonderful!

Well done on completing treatment and I’m glad to hear that the loo hasn’t caused you any issues that’s a huge win for this treatment.

I didn’t use the Flamigel but used the Flaminal for about 5 days after finishing treatment and was able to wipe normally by about 10 days post treatment although the painful toilet visits lasted a little longer. I carried on with Aveeno for some time after that and still use Sudocrem every time I go out on my bike.

Insurance wise we already had the holidays booked before the official diagnosis and when I rang the insurance company they confirmed that being the case I was still covered as the policy was already in force.

Yes it’s a strange feeling when you lose the focus and routine of treatment days and you’re left in a sort of weird void waiting for your first check up.

It's also a 'well done' from me for completing your treatment. I hope all goes well for you going forwards.

Today I completed Day 5 of the 28-day chemoradiation regime, still early days and I'm hoping I can manage as well as you have. Your report is very encouraging.

In terms of an insurance company, I used AllClear for an annual policy which we took out in May this year to cover our 25 days in Spain at the end of May/into June. I selected Europe, including Spain, so it's not a worldwide one. The cost was slightly more than for a single trip policy, but affordable (at least under four figures!). In the drop down menu for 'Cancer', there was a specific Anal Cancer category. It also covered 'spread to other organs' as I was stage 4 on diagnosis last September (just one liver lesion).

I was able to complete the questionnaire online, based on the information I knew about my condition at the time, without the need for a telephone call, which was a relief. I didn't research any more companies as I thought it could potentially be an exhaustive process and the policy satisfied my needs for where we were planning to go.

Given that you have some time before your planned break, it may be worth shopping around. It might be worth trying Insurancewith as well, as this company was founded by a breast cancer survivor.

Congratulations on getting through the 28 days.. and amazing your poo visits have been ok..

I used flamazine once treatment ended..but rhe best cream for me was bepanthen..its a nappy cream.. its only a couple of pound and its magic..

Its normal to been low when you come to the end of your schedule..you have had this routine for the past few months and now you feel alone..
