Hi all, finished treatment in Wednesday. Painful poos are horrible! Also skin inside butt cheeks and genital area broken and bleeding, anyine else had this? Any tips on what to do to try and speed up recovery. Have Polymem dressings and flaminal hydro cream. Any advice will be appreciated, thank you
Hi Flowerpot26 well done on getting through your treatment, now it's rest and recover. I remember the painful poos like passing razor blades dipped in acid, I did a lot of deep breathing through them and some sort of weird stand up sit down thing. I had flaminal forte for the butt cheeks, I think it's the next one up so you could ask for that also instillagel numbs everything but it will sting when you apply it. Go commando as much as you can it does seem to help. Sending hugs. Xx
Hello Flowerpot26 I would slather on the flaminal hydro and then top with polymem dressings - I cut them to size, sprinkled with sterile water and popped them on, especially when I wee'd on them and after any movements! I kept rhwm in place with dermasilk knickers - expensive but worth it! Things got horribly worse post treatment amd then on day 9 improved a bit! I worked my way back downbto flamigel and now bepanthen which stops the itch! I occasionally still use my peri-bottle.to have a wash and use cotton cheeky wipes as a single use wipe/dry. It will.pass - I promise!!!!
Much love,
Willow xx
Thank you for your words of advice I am going to ask for the flaminal forte. Your description of having a poop is exactly right I am like a mad woman on, off !!! hopefully it will ease a bit soon . Xx
Thank you Willow, I have been using the peri-bottle like a woman possessed! I will also try the dressing and cream, hopeful of turning a corner soon. xx
Hi Flowerpot26 ,
Firstly congratulations on finishing your treatment.
I think we can all appreciate the feeling of the shards of glass poos! It’s got to be the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. As Willow has said keep lathering on the creams & take the time to try & get lots of rest. I was completely wiped out for a week after that last session. Once my skin started healing it happened really quickly so hopefully you’ll find the same, internal healing took a little longer but you’ll get there. Make your team aware if the creams & pain relief aren’t cutting it.
Sending lots of healing thoughts your way.
Nicola
Hi Flowerpot26 Well done on getting through the treatment..
These next few weeks can be painful.. but it does get better quick after the 2 weeks post treatment ending..
I found bepanthen cream was best for me..its a nappy cream but its marvelous..
Each person's recovery is diffrent.. remember to be kind to yourself and remember how much you have gone through..take one day at a time and your body and mind will start to heal..

I think I was under the assumption that pain would slowly get better in the two weeks post treatment. Not stay the same!. Today's day 11, if the painful poops would just ease!! even a little bit! I am going to try the bepanthen cream today, hopefully ease the itch, thank you xx
Hi
At this really painful stage I used to do my poos in the sitz bath.. the warm water really helps..i know it sounds gross but anything you can do to ease the pain u should..
I promise you it does get better...
Sending big hugs
