I’ve had an appointment with my Oncologist and a planning scan was booked for this Friday but since then it’s been changed to an Oncology clinical meeting at a different time, why would that happen, I had blood tests done the other day could something be wrong with them? I’m worried about it as I thought I was getting the scan and moving forward.
Take a deep breath - these things happen but they leave the patients in a huge state of anxiety when you haven't been given any explanation. I would ring your contact (cancer nurse) at the hospital and ask him/her why things have changed, and tell them how worried you are. I just don't think some hospitals realise just how much the patient reads into every single thing that is said, every eyebrow raised, every pause in the conversation. We have all been there and can totally empathise.
Let us know how you get on.

Thankyou Irene I’m beside myself with worry as thought I was on the right path now, I’ll ring them first thing and let you know xx
Hi Irene, it’s fine my scan has just been moved to a different time and they’ve changed the name of radiology dept to Oncology clinic so it was very misleading x
So glad that you’re back on track. I had a terrible time last year because they brought the date to get my results forward. I was awake for nights worrying myself sick thinking it was because the news was bad. Someone on this forum recommended that I call my MacMillan nurse. I did and was told that it was because the consultant was going on holiday and so they re - jigged the appointments! We are all so vulnerable on this journey and I think medical staff often don’t realise that. I wish you well on your treatment and for a perfect outcome.
Hugs

Hello Wishes Glad to hear all ok, as Irene75359 says, the medical professionals don't realise how these small things can send us patients into a tailspin. But good job you rang - you would still be frantically worrying about it otherwise! xx
I am so glad you rang! Truly, I know exactly how you felt. Last year I had a follow-up appointment with the colorectal consultant after my stoma, and the letter said it was in the cancer wing. When I rang to find out why, the receptionist said Mr Lovelydoctor (and he is) always has his Thursday clinic in that unit. Be still my beating heart!
Irene xx
