Hi just competed 3 weeks treatment for AC so half way there. Not been as bad as I first imagined but I've now started with an itch. It's driving me mad and waking me up at night several times. Has anyone got tips on how to stop this please?
Hi Izzy59 I wash with water only (massive tepid jug over the loo) and apply FlamigelRT liberally everywhere. This has stopped the itch, not the swelling which kicked in this weekend for me (end week 4). I am using Flamigel Hydro on a couple of hotspots on my bottom. No pain relief needed yet but apparently it goes quick so they have given me morphine instiligel so I am ready (I am NOT ready mentally but hey...). Hope this helps! I bought some StrataXT but have got on so well with Flamigel I havent used it.
Finally hint - no kickers! I aair the area as much as possible, hook my knees over a body pillow at night and wear DermaSilk knickers when needed or silk boxershorts.
Good luck for week 4 xxx I have 8 sessions to go xx
Thanks Willow, I think I've been using my flamagel wrongly. I've only put it on just before my radiotherapy session as I thought it was to act as a barrier reducing the amount of bad skin reactions. I use Aveeno moisturiser in-between. I got my magnifying glass out and re-read the leaflet (tiny writing). You are right, I can use flamigel more often so will give it a try and hope it helps. Thanks for your advice and good luck with the rest of your treatment. X
Hello Izzy59
Ah, the dreaded itch - you are doing so well but itching is difficult especially during the night. Some forum members found anti-histamines help quite a bit, would be worth giving those a try.

Hi Irene I'll ask on Monday if I can take antihistamines while also taking my chemo and some other meds. Anything is worth a try. Thanks for your advice.
Izzy59 I apply it three times a day (now also after a quick water wash after a wee!) and I do this at least two hours before treatment. The flaminal hydro is good when you get a sore patch (a third appeared for me this morning!!!). Good luck with your treatment, arent weekends blissful with a break! I always find I am less swollen on the Sunday. Thinking of you! So much good advice on here, everyone is amazingly supportive x
Hi I'd recommend the flamigel and a sitz bath.mine lasted about 4 weeks and the pain does get worse but like I said it was the last week then 3 weeks after.
Take Care Wendy
Hi Izzy
You’re doing really well, I was one given anti-histamines by the hospital when I developed the itch during treatment, they did help a lot but didn’t completely remove it. I’d say defiantly worth asking your team about them.
Good luck for with rest of your treatment.
