Hi
I finished a 2 week session of radiotherapy almost 5 weeks ago and have recovered quite well. However, I am still so tired, I’m in bed around 9 and usually sleep reasonably well, but I’m still permanently exhausted. Has anyone else experienced this please? Thank you x
Hello Oakwood51
Five weeks out from treatment is not long, sorry! The exhaustion following radiotherapy cannot be underestimated, I spent more time in bed fast asleep than anything else in the first couple of months. The body is trying to repair itself and in your shoes, I wouldn't soldier on. Rest and sleep when you need to.
I hope you feel better soon. But be kind to yourself until you get there!
Irene xx
Yes, as Irene says radiotherapy is exhausting and your body just needs time to heal and recuperate. Rest and sleep as much as you can; eat well and stay hydrated - just the usual wellness stuff. You will gradually find your energy levels return. Meanwhile if you are enjoying good quality sleep, just go with it. Bed at 9pm sounds like bliss!
