Hi all just to update you.
Ive completed my first week and so far so gppd.
A few hiccups but overall it's been positive.
Day one chemo infusion and radio all ok
Day two chemo tablets and radio ok
Day three the same and no issue
Day four early morning radio. Got up and vomited. Had food then tablets and managed to keep them down. Got to radio and no urine in bladder so had to drink large amounts. Puked up in waiting room ( like a fountain of water) then drank more water and puked even more up again in thr bathroom this time. Bladder scanned numerous times before radio so was there for two hours in all. Felt tired all day do slept but in evening took anti sickness. Ate loads and felt back to normal.
Day 5 woke up vomited. Took anti sickness, then breakfast and pills and then radio and only bladder scanned once and a top up of fluid so was in and out in 20 min.
Felt ok today, just got tired towards the afternoon. And I reflect that the trick is to have antisickness as soon as I wake up.
Over all it's been an ok week and much better than anticipated with only one day being quite bad with me. Did have more bleeding yesterday but that's settled today xx
Thank you so much for the update but so sorry to hear that you were throwing up. Really hope you are feeling better now and that you don’t have to go through that again. enjoy your weekend off. You are nearly 18% through!! x
Aww thanks
Itd not been bad really apart from one day and it's a struggle for morning appointment to manage sickness, eat food, take pills and drink enough water all in a short space of time. Other than this, it's been tolerable x
Well done on completing week one. It’s a big one.
You have done really well although I’m so sorry about the vomiting which sounds really challenging. It sounds like you are working out the balance of what works for you. I had a lot of nausea in the first couple of weeks and used the metoclopramide and it helped.
I hope you manage to rest up over the weekend. It can be such a relief not to take the tablets and make the journey for a couple of days. You are well on your way now- a whole week crossed off. Xx
Hello Ian L c2e27
Thank you for keeping us updated - nausea can be pretty grim but it sounds as if you have worked out a solution. And I became tired too but just indulged myself and napped if I had to.
And it sounds as if the radiotherapy department is really efficient, mine was too, my husband would wait in the coffee shop and would be sitting there still with half a cup doing his Sudoku and I would be ready to go.
Just keep counting the days!
Irene xx
