Hi all
I had my first session of chemo radiation yesterday and it went well.
There was a delay with chemo and it took longer due to amount of patients but the infusion went well. I have had no sickness ot any side effects.
Radio also went well, the worst part is drinking water and laying still.onnthr table with the urge of needing to pass urine. Otg4r that that it was over in 15 minutes.
I was just so tired by end of the day but put this down to the heavy work load leading up to starting treatment and the emotional roller coaster ride I've been on and the anxiety and unknown of starting this journey to recovery.
Had slight muscle changes/weakness in lower legs and not of a concern but something I noticed but this morning it's gone, maybe I was just fatigued. Went to bed at 830pm and awake at 2am as no matter how tired I am.my body wakes me up when it's had enough sleep.
I'll keep ypu all posted on how things go as im aware that some of you are also starting treatment soon
Have a good day everyone xxxxx
Well done! It must be good to have actually started now. Did they give you anti sickness meds to take as a precaution or just to take if you actually feel sick? I have my pre-chemo assessment on Friday and I have soooo many questions for them. xxx
I had tablets there
Dex which is a steroid but only a low dose and ondonsatron for sickness
I was fine
Took home anti sickness and liberalism for diarohea but so far no sickness and I have constipation but managed a motion this morning just now
They also gave me dermal cream for skin
Xx
I meant loperamide for sickness. The spelling on my phone is so sensitive
Hi Ian,
So glad that your first day went well. It can be such a relief to just get started.
The water loading is hard, particularly if there is any delay so hoping your sessions keep to schedule. I’m not surprised that you feel tired. The psychological build up is huge, let alone the work hours you have put in.
Good luck for today and start crossing those days off xx
