Hi all
I just want to let you all know that I had the ALL CLEAR today! Have to have scans every 3 months.
I just wanted to say thank you to all who have answered my posts during and after treatment when I’ve needed the support!
I am still anxious and scared of the future, i no longer trust life unfortunately.
But I guess it’s a big thing to go through and has mentally scarred me for life.
I am ten weeks post treatment now and my side effects are only just starting to slow down all Together. I still have some soreness to my bum and when going to the toilet but that’s about it for now
Congratulations! That’s great news. Thanks for sharing. I’ve just completed Day 1 of treatment- a long way to go but it’s great hearing positive news xx
Ps - I’m not Dan the man - I’m Happyflower
i don’t know why I’m listed as Dan the Man?
Thanks Bungle. I think I remember you said you have DPD as I do. Has it had any impact so far on your treatment apart from receiving half the dose of chemo?
Many Thanks
Happyflower
Hi you remember right I have low dpd. As far as I'm aware it hasn't had any impact other than like you say only half dose of chemo. I started week 4 today. X
Hello AsLu24
That is really wonderful news! And now you can look forward to Christmas. One of my first questions on here was when I asked if it was still normal to have really painful poos 9 or 10 weeks later, so I was the same, it does get better. The three monthly scans come round so quickly but take heart that you are being well looked after and checked constantly and that is a positive.
I think anyone who has had a cancer diagnosis and gone through the pelvic radiotherapy combined with chemo look back in amazement and think did I really go through that - I know I do but thankfully memories, although they don't exactly fade, become less and less at the forefront of your mind.
Hope your healing continues well!
Irene xx
Fantastic news, bet you are on cloud nine now.
You are right, it certainly messes with your head but as time passes and your checkups keep coming back - hopefully clear - you may start to find a bit of peace.
I wish you speedy healing for your sore bum and some calm in your heart now.
xx
