Hello.
i have been diagnosed with anal cancer and I have my surgery on Thursday for a non reversible stoma and I am feeling very anxious about it all.
Hi Blue1959
So sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I can see you have had lots of helpful advice already but please feel free to read my profile if it might be useful and do message if you have any questions!
Best wishes for the weeks and months ahead, it’s not easy but it is worth it to hopefully be cancer free.

Hi My mum had a stoma for her cancer 2 weeks ago. She was very worried about it all, how it would look etc. When it came for nurse to take the bag off for the first time my mum was dreading it so was I, but it didn't look as bad as I thought, you wouldn't notice that she has got a stoma. It does take a while to heal and go down in size. I have noticed a change in my mums already, but don't worry about it you will be fine the stoma nurses are brilliant they are so supportive.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
