Hello Some advice please, can’t get through to the hospital even after an hour of calling.
I have a flexi sigmoidoscopy at 9.45 tomorrow morning, only got my letter today which says if I’m on blood thinners then to call them as I may need to stop them. I’m on Apixaban 5mg twice a day, had my last one this morning. I have to do an enema 2 hours before I go, obviously don’t want to do that to get to the hospital and they say they can’t do the procedure!
Any thoughts or advice would be really helpful please xxx
Hello Ivymay
I am also on Apixaban and unfortunately different hospitals have different criteria. I recently had a sigmoidoscopy and didn't take Apixaban on the day of my procedure and all was fine. If you can't get through to the hospital have a look on their website under sigmoidoscopy, there is a chance that it will have instructions on there.
Hope everything goes as planned and all is well.
Irene xx
