Wrong group, sorry
Hi there Willows ,
Firstly welcome to the Macmillan online community although I’m really sorry that you’ve had the need to find us.
I purposely left your question sitting there for a couple of hours hoping someone may have had some experience of this but didn’t want your post to go unanswered for too long.
You’re always welcome here but can I ask is it anal cancer you’ve been diagnosed with or rectal cancer? I know it’s a very fine line between the two regarding the location of the tumour & then there’s the type of course, the most common type of anal cancers are squamous cell carcinoma where the most common form of rectal cancers are adenocarcinoma. The reason I ask is because I can’t recall anyone posting here about having a Lower Anterior Resection although there are people here that have gone through APR. I want you to get the support & advice you need so maybe it would be worth also posting your question in the Bowel (colon and rectal) cancer forum as you may find someone there that has had a LAR.
I hope someone comes along that can offer you some advice from experience with this.
Nicola

I hope you find what you need, like Nicola I didn't answer as I had no knowledge to help.
Very best wishes in your treatment.
