Hello - does anyone have any experience of anal dilation under anaesthetic to help with tight anal strictures/stenosis? My consultant has suggested it may possibly be an option but there are risks involved so doesn't sound very encouraging! Thanks, C
Hi Colly,
My surgeon mentioned this once when I asked about stenosis, he said ‘there are things that can be done should the stenosis become an issue’ then went on to tell me about the dilation under anaesthetic but said that it wasn’t without its risks, thankfully I’ve not had to consider it any further. Hopefully if there’s someone here that has more experience of this they’ll see your post & respond.
Nicola
