Hi I am already a member of the forums as my husband has metastatic terminal cancer on both kidneys and lung, so have been researching all about cancer for a year, unfortunately I noticed about 3months ago my left hand side of my body was swollen and very tough. I have been told my spleen is massively swollen and after having a PET scan and 3 scans and an MRI I’ve been told I almost certainly have lymphoma (I’ve been tested twice over the last 12 years but always came back with a no,) the local hospital have refused to remove my spleen which is causing a lot of pain I have no appetite plus in any case I am unable to eat after 5 pm, my hemotologist dr has asked Christie’s for their best advice and they insist I need it removed asap,I have a number of growths around my liver and kidneys and a large one that is interfering with my aortic blood vessels to both legs causing intermittent pain and cramps in both legs.oh and both my feet are swollen which my GP thinks is my heart, I know this is a miss match of weird and wonderful symptoms but has anyone any idea what this could be I’d be so grateful, thanks in advance I truly just want to get well so I can look after my husband, God bless everyone
Hi Linzilou …… I am sorry to hear about the challenges you are having and also to hear about your husband.
I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups…… I have been on my journey with 2 types or rare Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for over 25 years.
Lymphoma is rather different to ALL that this group covers…… could I suggest that you join and post in our General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma support group.
With over 60 types and sub-types of Lymphoma there no way that anyone in these groups can say what this actually is but your various symptoms do fit in with some of the Symptoms of Lymphoma
As Lymphoma is a cancer of the blood and lymphatic-system it can turn up anywhere in the body…… but this still remains very treatable….. I was stage 4 in late 2013 but I am still here all these years later.
I will keep an eye open for you in the General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma group where you can get further help.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
