Hi I’m new here. I’m under investigation for systemic mastocytosis and I have a bone marrow biopsy on Monday 26th Oct and ct scan due soon no date yet, I have a holiday booked to go to Egypt in November and I get the results 2 days before we are supposed to fly. I’ve updated my insurance provider and they have emailed me to give them a call as they can no longer cover me and want to give me a refund. The flights are non refundable. Does anyone have any idea what would be a good plan here please? I obviously can’t go without insurance and not sure if il be able to recover any of my money back any advice would be really appreciated thanks
Hello Linz75,
I'm very sorry to hear of your situation and hope that the biopsy and CT scans are favourable for you.
As far as the travel insurance and flight costs etc. are concerned, if your insurance was in place when flights and any other non recoverable costs were incurred and you were unaware of your medical problems at the time I'd expect the insurer to reimburse you subject to any excess under your policy.
