Paul
Hi Paul/,
BEAM is a well used Chemo regime and often used for auto SCT’s. Tough but do-able. The drug to watch is the last one, the ‘M’ which is Melphalan. It can cause nasty mouth ulcers, usually you’re advised to suck ice in any form as constantly as possible, before, during the half hour infusion and for as long after as you can stand, so you get an ‘ice cream headache’ or can’t feel your mouth? It prevents the chemo from attacking the fast growing cells in your mouth and can help prevent sores.
Keep posting, no questions too daft!
