Hi

I had liver cancer 6 years ago and had a transplant. Therefore I have not had cancer for 6 years.
can anyone recommend a company where I can get travel insurance which isn’t a ridiculous price. Some providers won’t insure me at all which I find very disappointing. Just because I had cancer doesn’t mean I will get it again in the future

  • Hi  and welcome to the Community.

Travel Insurance can be a challenge and at times the price quoted could be higher than the cost of the holiday and some people do find that no Insurance is being offered.

Comparison sites tend to use the same algorithms so getting a clear price can be difficult and it’s not that unusual to be turned down or told to call the insurers.

It is actually more effective to call a few insurers directly as this means that you have answered all the questions correctly and in doing this a suitable policy can be offered and price given.

My latest insurance was through PayingTooMuch, the price was ok but I can’t comment about how good they would be in the event if a claim as we did not need to do this…… I am now 9 years 8 months out from my last treatment and seen as being in remission.

……… that is an ongoing discussion thread in our dedicated Travel insurance group as it's where the majority of recommendations from other forum members are.

I do hope you can get cover.
