hello I am new to the site,I have been in remission 3yrs for bowel cancer, the operation I had was a low anterior resection with a loop ilieostomy which was reversed 18mths later after chemo.

  • Hello Richard,

and welcome to Macmillan's on line community.

Have you thought about joining a group on here? There is a helpful one for bowel cancer, which could most likely benefit with your experience or maybe you'd like to join a group to help you move forward now that your treatment has ended?

you can find the groups on the right side of your 'home' screen, listed in two tap-to-pull down menus.

hope you find the site helpful

    Hi Grace

I'm sorry to read that things have not improved since your reversal, we have many members in different stages of reversal and I'm sure that they would be willing to share their experiences with you.

I note that although you've been a member for a few years now but have not got round joining any of our groups yet  I would like to invite you to join our Ileostomy, colostomy, urostomy and any other stoma support group by clicking on the green text above which will open up a new page for you, when the page opens up look near the top for JOIN THIS GROUP and you should click on it then look for START A DISCUSSION which again you click on and this will allow you to start your own discussion by introducing yourself and telling the members about the problems  you are having and knowing the members they will all rally round you to give help, support and advice on any of your concerns.

Whilst it is good to look back on aged discussions responding to them may not find the original poster as they may have moved on and it is nice to see new discussions being started.

Please do join the group and post a new discussion and let us help you to enjoy your life.

I look forward to seeing you in the stoma support group, and really we do have a lot of members who joined when they had a stoma but continued to post and help others who either had or were about to have a reversal and I am sure that you could add much to the future discussions on the merits of having a reversal.

See you over in the stoma group very soon I hope.

    Ian
