Hi my name is Theresa. I was diagnosed with womb cancer four days ago. I’m waiting for my MRI results. I’m told I will be discussed at a MDT this coming Tuesday and I will be told my treatment plan. Do I go on my own.
Hello Treesy,
A very warm welcome to the Macmillan online community, although I'm very sorry you have the need to join.
I'm Derek, one of the community champions on here. I would say, in answer your question, it's up to you whether to go your appointment alone or accompanied by someone else.
Personally I would recommend having someone with you who can listen, prompt questions you would like to ask and make notes on what is said. I know from experience of having two separate cancers diagnosed over the past 12 years I would not have been able to recall everything said to me at meetings with my doctors and having someone accompany me was extremely useful.
The Macmillan community is made up of numerous cancer specific forums and would suggest you join the womb forum where you'll be able to connect with others dealing with similar issues for support and information. I've placed a link below for you to find this.
With my best wishes.
