Hi everyone,

Im new to all the forums.

I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in March this year, had lumpectomy and sentinel node removal in may.

So far I've had 4 sessions of EC and 8 sessions of pacletaxol, with another 4 to go.

Then ive to have further node clearance as unfortunately it was found to have spead to sentinel node, then it will be radiotherapy after that.

Im currently just feeling like ground hog day just now as each week repeats itself with the chemo cycle.

Struggling to work out what to do with work, currently off but mainly due to how chemo is reacting with my other underlying health conditions.

Have applied for ESA benefit after being encouraged to do so but feeling so guilty for applying for benefits when others out there will be alot worse off than me.

Head just keeps spiraling just now and I thought I would join here to read others journeys and see if this will help me going forward.

Sorry for the rambling post, just where my heads at just now

  • Hello

I am sorry you are going through treatment for breast cancer. It sounds like you are well on your way through it and I hope the interaction with your other health conditions doesn’t have longer term consequences for you. Don’t feel guilty about applying for benefits. If you meet the criteria then you are entitled to them.

Our community is divided into sections by cancer type. Think of them as support groups for people going through similar treatments and experiences. You might want to join our Breast cancer forum   I am one of the community champions there.
