Hello everyone,
I’m new to this but as I am worried about what is around the corner, I have decided to share, to see if anyone else has been, or, is in the same situation as me.
I was diagnosed in 2022 with ER pos HER2 neg breast cancer. I lost my sister who was 18 months older than me when she was 54 years old to Triple neg breast cancer, I was 58 at diagnosis and 2 months after my diagnosis, I encouraged my mother at 85 years old to get checked. She also was diagnosed with the same cancer as me!
Who could imagine it!
Following my treatment, I now just have an annual mammogram but I am approaching my 5th anniversary and I hear that I will receive only a phone call to discuss continuing/stopping my treatment. I am very nervous as with my family history and Grade 3 diagnosis, I am worried it will return If I stop taking the Letrozole. Equally, I am in a lot of pain with joint ache and so would love not to take the meds.
It may be a complete decision and I am just told what is happening but as no one has talked to me about what is going to happen , I am just nervous.
Any thoughts, advice much appreciated.
