Hi, I’m 39 female single mum of 2 children (1 with additional needs) had some symptoms for a while - fatigue, bloating, thin stools & mucus but they have come and gone. I do have piles that have bled on and off for years and stupidly done nothing about them 
Doctors ran bloods all good but ferritin was 32 so slightly low.
Fit test came back at 24 today and have been referred for further tests.
I am really sick with fear and worry. I suffer terribly with anxiety and mental health and have seen loved ones die from cancer and the thought of leaving my children or them seeing me sick is unbearable.
Never been in this position before can anyone offer any advice I’m really frightened

Having been on my cancer journey for over 26 years (first diagnosed in 1999 at 43) with two very rare, hard to treat types of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphomas (one incurable) then Asbestosis and recently Prostate Cancer that navigating this journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but talking with and getting support from people who have walked or are walking the ‘exact same' journey can help a lot.

This group is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
I will say that I have had a few positive FIT tests over my years and no cancer was found and I do hope that this is the same for you,
As always the Macmillan Support Line is open between 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00…… this service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support or just a listening ear.

I am Steve, one of the community champions and my experience of cancer is via my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma.
Our son has autism and has been living with my wife being ill since he was about 6 though her cancer was only finally diagnosed when he was 10. We have always kept him informed and while he has struggled we thought it better for him to know. Still given that Janices cancer has now been stable for over 10 years we are defintley into living with cancer rather than any alternative.
As I am sure you know a fit test picks up quite a few conditions beside cancer and that is why they will do further tests. Both my wife and I have experienced the delights of a colonoscopy though for both we got the all clear on that front. Hope whatever test you have next comes through soon and that it helps identify any issues you might have.
