My daughter 37 yrs old has been diagnosed with Metastatic breast cancer biopsy confirmed grade 2 invasive lobular carcinoma still to confirm likely pleomorphic which is ER 8 PR 7 and HER2 2+ positive. Awaiting FISH.
I loss my mother in March this year, my sister had a stroke in August and now my daughter has Metastatic breast cancer. This is all new to us and I am trying to get educated while my world is falling apart. However, we do have an unwavering believe that we'll get through this. She has two beautiful boys 8 and 4 to see grow up.
After being admitted to acute oncology yesterday she is starting chemo today at Charing Cross and although some tests are yet to be confirmed/performed, they are eager to start treatment. We would like her to be transferred to the Royal Marsden as this is also very close to her. We have already requested referral/transfer of care via her GP. Does anyone have experience of being transferred? Referral timeframes? Care at RM breast unit?
Charing Cross have been very good (apart from A&E) with rapid testing however, as we're so close to RM and given their expertise, reduced risk of acquiring HCAIs think this would be a better option, if accepted! Thanks in advance for any responses/advice.
