I was literally told yesterday that I have a carcenoid tumour in my upper right lobe and all need to be removed. I am not even 40years old, I am fit and I do not smoke. This feels very daunting...I have not even told my family yet, I love far away from them...my partner and a couple of friends know. How do you cope?I lost all motivation about everything weeks ago when I started the process of diagnosis

A warm welcome to the Macmillan online community, although I'm very sorry you have the need to join.
The community comprises numerous cancer specific forums and I'm going to recommend yu join our lung cancer forum and repost your questions there. We have numerous members who have had surgery and you're certain to receive good advice and guidance from them.
In the meantime although a lung cancer diagnosis is most certainly a shock, especially at a young age, all is far from lost. My own experience involving lung cancer started with diagnosis in early 2014 leading to surgery to remove my entire right lung. I celebrated my 12th anniversary in June this year with no further problems, and remain clear.
Treatment of lung cancers has improved enormously over recent years and being offered surgery provides excellent prospects of a cure.
If you have any specific questions just ask and I'll do my best to answer.
