Hi all im just after someone to talk to going through the same … I found a pea sized lump a few months ago and just put it down to thinking I was maybe going through the change ( I’m 46) two weeks ago I had some aching around rib cage  especially when I was walking it was like a bad stitch so I felt around the area and noticed the lump in my right breast I’ve since had some like dull aching heaviness towards evening . The lump isn’t round it’s like a wide oval ish stone feel . I’m waiting to be seen by the breast clinic . I’m trying to stay positive, I lost my mum to cancel at 59 but she passed of sarcoma . Can anyone relate to this I’m so scared .

  • Hi

Welcome to the MacMillan community. I am sorry you have found a lump and are waiting to be seen by the breast clinic. Our community is divided up into support groups for different cancers, and I recommend you join our Breast cancer forum  where there are lots of people going through similar experiences. I am one of the Community Champions over there.

I have been to the breast clinic 3 times. The first couple of times weren’t cancer but my third, which was from a mammogram referral, was cancer. The process is likely to include physical examination, mammogram, ultrasound and possibly biopsies. They will probably give you a good idea of what they have found on the day, but if there’s any suspicion at all of cancer they will send biopsy samples off to be examined. Wishing you all the best.
