Hi to you all

I'm new to this group.

It has taken a fair amount of time and courage for me...- usually the one who "just copes"and "gets on with stuff" and "doesn't break".... to join this group and admit that I really need some kindness and to lean a bit on the kindness of others in dealing with being diagnosed with breast cancer twice in my life and ask for some help and support  in what is proving to be a very difficult second time journey through breast cancer.

I am very much facing this alone this time ...no partner or kids etc and a limited support  network and so being able to share the ups and downs of this  all in a safe space  would really mean the world to me!

Happy to share the load too.

I am usually a very positive kind and happy human... Just struggling with how tough this all  is this time round. Hoping you can bring me some light and joy  and vice versa !

Look forward to connecting with you

Katie

  • Hi Katie ( )

I am sorry you are on your second journey through breast cancer. Is this a recurrence or a second primary diagnosis? Either way it’s a tough thing to go through. Welcome to MacMillan. The community is divided into forums by cancer type and experience. I can see you have joined our Breast cancer forum and that’s a great place to get support from people going through similar things. I am one of the Community Champions across our breast cancer forums. It’s sad we have so many users but it shows how common this experience is. When you feel ready, do come and introduce yourself there. You might like to put a bit of information into your profile about your current and previous diagnosis / treatment, as it saves repeating yourself. If you click on my name you can read my potted history. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

I have metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer, in remission

  • Thank you so much for your lovely message Codfish. I'll definitely add some information to my profile. I'm not so good with technology!

So glad you're in remission - awesome and long may that continue.

I shall update my profile now.

    Have a super afternoon
