Hello I have recently been gifted with a diagnosis is ER/PR-positive, HER2-negative metastatic lobular breast cancer with a spread to pelvic bone. I will be treated with hormone therapy. I juat wanted to know how others are coping with such treatment and knowing it can't t be cured. How are u living with that hanging over you and any positive stories on here to encourage my journey. The past 2 months have been consuming with tests, biopsies and an over worked mind. Now I know what is what, I would like to understand and be motivated by others that are receiving such treatment and building it into their daily lives and how they cope mentally. I am a v upbeat person generally but this latest news has rattled me. Thank you v much!!
Hi CD75
I am sorry you are living with metastatic breast cancer. Welcome to our community. I can see you have joined our breast cancer forum. There’s sure to be lots of support there including people on hormone therapy. We have a couple of other forums you might be interested in. Secondary breast cancer forum is relatively quiet but everyone has secondary breast cancer. Living with incurable cancer forum - patients only is busier and has people living with all sorts of cancers that have spread. I am a member of all of these communities as I also have metastatic breast cancer cancer. Mine is triple negative so I have no experience of hormone therapy.
It’s a horrible shock to find you have metastatic cancer. I didn’t get my diagnosis all at once, but found mine had spread to my liver a few months in. Once over the shock it becomes apparent that life is by no means over. I hope you remain stable on your treatment for a long time and hope to see you on the other forums.
