I was given my diagnosis yesterday and I’ve got a pre-op appointment on Wednesday ahead of surgery the following Tuesday.
i was planning to take a short break at the end of August but I’m now feeling pressured to take that break by bringing it forward ahead of surgery. I will be going away straight after the pre-op appointment and returning home the day before.surgery.
ive been lying awake all night worrying I’ve upset my wife by resisting the idea as well as trying to think through what’s happening .
I had a heart procedure 2 weeks ago, I’ve now got a breast cancer diagnosis and my head is spinning. The thought of trying to rearrange the trip at very short notice and the thought I might not actually enjoy it given surgery is the day after I get back is all I can think about.
Am I being selfish?
