Diagnosed in April, bowel surgery in May and now on chemotherapy

this has all come out of the blue for me with no previous indication of problems. Now my life has turned upside down and I find myself dealing with new issues every day, especially reaction to chemo. The prognosis is not great being just above stage 3 and I wonder how much time I have left.

At present I am simply hoping for some remission to do some of the special things I would like to do with the time left.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I've had different cancer diagnoses to you I know how scared you're probably feeling right now.

The online community is divided into different support groups and I can see that you've already found and joined the bowel cancer group which is a great place to connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as you.

When you feel ready, you can start a new post there in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
