Hello everyone.

Not sure how new I am as have been reading posts previously and I may have posted some time ago.

I have had 3 different cancers in my life and have Lynch Syndrome -  I had Ovarian 2004, Uteric 2014 and Colorectal 2016.

This year I have ben diagnosed with secondary metastatic cancer which is spread and uncurable but treatable with Carboplatin and Immunotherapy. Originall thought to be secondary ovarian cancer on biopsy of one lesion but later following Whole Genome Sequencing, profile favours Endometrioid cancer. I am going through 6 cycles of treatment and have 2 more to go. Side effects are causing issues and I'm scared immunotherapy may need to be stopped. However I'm hopeful it won't be as it is doing good. It is a scary dilemna.

I am not sure whar forum I should join to share info and get support if possible.

  • Hi   and a very warm welcome to the Macmillan Community although it’s good that you have found the community helpful as n the past.

I know from experience having been on my cancer journey for over 26 years with 4 cancers….. two very rare, hard to treat types of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphomas (one incurable), Asbestosis and Prostate Cancer that navigating this journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but talking with and getting support from people who have walked or are walking the ‘exact same' journey can help a lot.

As you know the Community is actually divided into dedicated Cancer Support Groups (Discussion Rooms)………… so is the Womb (uterus) cancer group a good place to start?….. but this link Cancer Specific Groups takes you to all our dedicated cancer support groups.

You may find our dedicated Living with incurable cancer - incurable patients only group as this is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

As always the Macmillan Support Line is open between 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00…… this service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support, benefits and financial guidance or just a listening ear.

Talking to people ‘face to face’ can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.

Do get back to me if you need further help navigating the community.
