Hi,
I'm looking for find some support for my 9 year old son. Some form of therapist or similar.
My wife has cancer and although my son seems ok on the outside I think it would be good for him to speak to someone.
Does anyone have an suggests?
Hi JessC26 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I'm sorry to read that your wife has cancer.
The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the family and friends group as you'll then connect directly with others who may have arranged for a therapist for their children and can share their experiences as to how they went about it.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
Your wife could also have a chat with her CNS as they should be able to give advice about counselling or psychological services in your area to help you support your child.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
