Is it normal for a Macmillan support nurse to phone you before you have even received the results of a MRI? My mum had a phone call from them saying that they would be discussing her MRI on Monday, but they never said what was wrong and she didn't ask. Because it was a Macmillan support nurse that called does this mean it is cancer?
I have been on my cancer journey for over 26 years with two very rare, hard to treat types of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphomas (one incurable), Asbestosis and Prostate Cancer and nothing surprises me.
Macmillan Support Nurses…… you may be referring to Cancer Nurse Specialties (CNS) do indeed focus on cancer related patients, but from my long experience they also perform other duties within hospital departments that are not specifically cancer related.
Ensure your mum has someone with her on Monday for the appointment as two pairs of ears are better than one.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
