I have recently done two fit tests both positive. Blood tests all satisfactory.

For years I have suffered from extreme constipation like going every 3 weeks and bleeding bright red, colonoscopy results said diverticulitis and that was that . Fast forward a few years and I was put on very strong opiods for severe back problems again fast forward 6 years had 2 surgery appointments in the last 6 months for my back wich I had to miss due to 1 my partner having a heart attack and second time in hospital looking forward to a pain free existence and my blood sugars were too high another cancelled op.

On and off over the years I have complained about pain and constipation with the doctors who just blame my pain meds and that's that.

My father had cororectal surgery for a stage 4 tumour in 2019 and bladder a few years later.  He passed away exactly 1 year ago. His sister had surgery for the same and also my estranged older sister last year as well.

My doctor took blood 3 weeks ago all came back fine , he said he would refer my for a colonoscopy but still waiting and going out of my mind with worries as I know ow my body and something has changed its not just constipation anymore and it feels like I am banging g my head against the proverbial brick wall with the doctors who wouldn't even go into details about my fit tests just said they are positive.  No I am extremely fatigued all the time no appetite and can't sleep .

I also have coronary heart disease ( heart attack 3 years ago )

Type 2 diabetes

Knackered back at l5s1 and feel like giving up on life as so tired I can't fight it anymore.

Sorry for long rant

Andrew

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I've not had the same symptoms and test as you, I know how scared you're probably feeling right now.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the bowel cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who have had the same investigations as you.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

I hope you don't have too much longer to wait for your colonoscopy and results.
