Hi,
I'm new to the community having had total hysterectomy for endometrial cancer end of last year. It was such a shock and I still don't feel like I've come to terms with it. I was perimenopausal and on HRT before the surgery, although still had symptoms. Post-op I was very emotional and started antidepressants. Thankfully it was low grade and stage so I've subsequently restarted HRT but getting conflicting information about what I should be taking. I've read lots of information and questioning whether I should even be taking HRT for fear of recurrence. I was referred to menopause clinic but now told I'm not eligible for clinic due to postcode. I'm still emotional and exhausted trying to advocate for myself, but don't seem to be getting anywhere. I'm trying to get my life back on track but feel the only option I have is to go private. It feel's like the cancer is still controlling my life !!
Hi K47
Welcome to the Online Community.
I am sorry to hear that you have had a diagnosis and surgery for endometrial cancer. I had endometrial cancer in 2022. I had surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
I see you have joined the womb group and it may be an idea to post in that group to see what advice others have been given regarding HRT.
You could also post your question to the nurses via this link.
