Hi all hoping for advice, have had a biopsy and request results by phone they said they can do, now demanding I go back to get the results due to findings but won’t tell me more and not showing in nhs app, another 2 weeks until appointment, please be honest if you know… is this because cancer has been found? Or just maybe they want to discuss the begin findings.

thanks all

I am sorry to hear that you have had a biopsy and are concerned about cancer. It can be tough to have tests and have to wait for an appointment to find out what the results are.

During my own cancer journey, sometimes results were given by phone and sometimes I had a face to face appointment. I did not get any results via the app. Some consultants are happy to give out results over the phone but others preferred to see me face to face. I think the thing to remember is that an urgent referral and a biopsy do not automatically mean cancer- they are done to rule out the most serious potential cause for your symptoms. Whether the biopsy showed cancer or a benign condition it is possible that treatment may be needed and by giving you a face to face appointment it will give you time to talk through your options for treatment.

I know that it can be a stressful time waiting to find out and if it would help, why not give the Support Line a call and talk things through with one of the nurses. The number is at the end of this.
