What has brought me here? Probably the feeling of no one understanding, the feeling of having to be the strong one holding everyone together but not feeling like anyone is holding me.
My sister was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer in 2022. She’s 4 years into her 5 year life expectancy, her mental health has taken a huge decline and her 3 children are suffering and looking to me for support. She is my older sister and my only sister and I feel like I’ve had to take on the older sister role without being at all prepared for that.
3 weeks ago I found out that my mum has breast cancer, 6cm tumor and is going for a mastectomy in 2 weeks time, they are unsure if it has spread to her other breast and possibly liver. My sister hasn’t taken this very well at all and I feel I have to put on a brave face for everyone.
Dealing with these and other things going on in day to day life is hard. Maybe I came here for some words of support, some story’s that closely link to mine, and maybe an outlet for my feelings.
If you got this far thank you for reading.
