Basal cell carcinoma

I've just been to my GP a week ago. He has said I have a basal cell carcinoma on the inner canthus of my eyelid, been referred to ophthalmologist. Other than that I haven't got a clue what to expect. All the GP said was not to worry. Not been told any waiting times or anything. Just wondered if anyone else has been through this and the waiting times involved. Also concerned about if it could effect my site. Lesion is only 1mm though.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I've had BCCs removed although not from my eyelid.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the skin cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who can tell you how long they've waited to be seen and treated.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

    Wishing you all the best
