Hi all, my wife has breast cancer and had a double mastectomy. She is now on her first cycle of chemotherapy and is feeling really bloated.
Does anyone have any advice, she's eating small meals but is worried about dehydration as she feels too full to drink very much?
Hello Chad,
I'm sorry to hear that your wife is suffering digestive system problems whilst on chemo. The issues you describe sound like what is often refered to as chemo belly caused by the chemo drugs.
I think she should contact her chemo unit ASAP for advice on dealing with this (she should have been provided with contact details). This is particularly important due to dehydration risk.
I hope she's soon feeling better.
Derek.
