My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in Nov 2018 and had the operation in Dec 2018 to remove a 5cm lump.lymph nodes clear
Chemo followed in the March 2019 6 sessions over 18 weeks followed by 6 weeks radio therapy . After that treatment was a series of herceptin injections along with anestrozol hormomne drugs. In late 2022 we were told all was ok and released from the care of the fantastic oncologists at Lincoln hospital.
Early October 2025 my wife diagnosed with bladder cancer that then metastasised into the small intestine with then the required treatment---resection of small intestine
Things did not progress well and on the night of Nov 20th 2025 she left this world on her final journey.--8 weeks after diagnosis
So fast, so quick so sudden, my wife of 43 years was no longer my rock.
its now nearly three months since her passing and every day I struggle to cope!!
What would fellow members recommend ---I have been told to see a counsellor but not until at least 6 months after bereavement, there have been a lot of very lonely dark days and thoughts at times what is left for me now !!!
What have other members done cos I am lost ??
Hello Joco54,
I am very sorry indeed to hear of the passing of your wife, and send you my sincere condolences.
Could I suggest that you might find Macmllan's bereaved spouses and partners forum useful for discussion with other members as well as mutual support.
Derek.
