My Dad was diagnosed with advanced prostrate cancer in 2015 and we were told it was symptom management from then. He has been amazing throughout his treatment. Last year he underwent some chemotherapy but it was stopped. He sleeps in a recliner chair and has limited mobility. The after effects of the chemo have left him very weak.
In the last few weeks he has been very agitated, especially with my Mum who is in the early stages of dementia. Is this common?
I know he’s worried about leaving my Mum but I don’t want to remember him like this.
Hello Shemaynew
A warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community, although I am so sorry to find you joining us. I am Brian one of the Community Champions here. I am also in the 4th year of my personal prostate cancer journey.
"New to the Community" is our reception desk and the Community is divided up into cancer specific groups and I would advise you to join us on the Prostate Cancer group where you will find people in the same or similar situation. Here's the link you need:
Once you click on the link I have provided and the page opens up, click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page. Once you have joined the group you can introduce yourself in the "New Here - Say Hello" section - you can either copy and paste the post above or repost it. I can assure you of a warm welcome and plenty of help and advice.
I look forward to "meeting" you again on "our" part of the Community.
Best wishes - Brian.
