Hi. Very new to this forum and to the support now available.
Had a melanoma removed nearly 31 years ago. There was very little support for cancer patients then, but a very lovely nurse gave me her personal phone number if I needed and wanted to discuss anything.

Forward to 2023 - during a scan for something else on my right side, a nodule was discovered on my left lung. This was monitored regularly with no change, but in July 2025 the nodule had changed. After further scans & tests I received a diagnosis of lung cancer although I have never smoked, and I finished a course of radiotherapy in Dec 25.

Still very tired from the treatment, Even though I am normally a ‘positive’ person, I sometimes think from all my ‘twinges’ maybe it has spread, or still there. I haven’t received any update yet regarding my treatment, but trying not to think about it too much.

  • Hi

Welcome to our community, I hope you find it both informative and supportive.

New to the community is a bit like the welcome mat while most of the community is divided up in to cancer types and expereinces so that people can focus on others with more of a shared expereince. My experience is via my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma - so a different type of cancer, though hers is mostly secondaries in her lung. You might like to introduce yourself in our Lung cancer forum

It is fairly normal to think about all sorts of things being related to the cancer especially when we are waiting for updates, hopefully you wont have to wait too long.

    <<hugs>>
