Hi im new here my dad just got diagnosed the other day and at the moment my emotions are all over the place and I’m not dealing with it well I’ve cried and cried when he told me the news I actually asked him if he was going to die he said no I’m not not tomorrow or any time soon I thought getting support from people who understand would be a good idea as he’s raised me as a single parent all my life I do have a mum but she’s unreliable and my dad is everything any tips on being able to manage my emotions would be great
Hello Stargirl,
A warm welcome to the Macmillan community, although I'm very sorry you have found the need to join because of your Dad's illness.
I'm Derek, one of our community champions, and I'd like to suggest that you join our Family and Friends forum then place your post there. This will enable you to connect with others who find themselves in a similar situation for mutual support, to talk about coping mechanisms, practical matters and anything else you would like to discuss.
