I had a single mastectomy 4 weeks ago and three sentinel lymph nodes were removed. I keep doing recovery exercise everyday but the area near my left underarm is still swollen and a bit sore until now. what can i do to improve the situation?  Now my left chest is feeling strange, tight and kind of numb, I don't know how long it's gonna take.....Also, I am not sure when can I put on scar removal cream on the big scar across my left chest? and I dare not touch my wound.  Can anyone please give me some advice or any scar removal cream to recommend?

  • Four weeks is still quite early in the healing process, so some swelling, soreness, tightness, and numbness around the surgery site and underarm is very common. The strange sensations can last for several months as nerves slowly regenerate. For the swelling and soreness, gentle, consistent lymphatic massage (if cleared by your doctor) can be very helpful. Also, make sure you're not overdoing your exercises. Gentle stretching is key.
