I have joined this group because while I was having my radiotherapy i was getting loads of support on the marsden app and able to ask lots of questions. As soon as my radiotherapy finished I was passed over to the open access group but dont have the same response from them. I had a lot of questions to ask about side effects and I was supposed to be given a phone call Follow up on Dec 9th but it didn't come. Phoned a couple of days later and was told someone would ring that afternoon but again no call. I have been referred for acupuncture which was 3 months ago for the sweats and aching joints but no update. Now I have terrible itching on my body. Called open access as I again wanted to know if it was a side effect. I spoke and they told me to go to my gp as it is not necessarily side effect related but it could be tablet related and they have temporarily stopped one tablet. I've not had any face to face visits since Sept and my first mammogram is june

  • But it goes without saying what a wonderful caring hospital Royal Marsden is and I'm in the best hands

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

The online community is divided into different support groups so, as you've mentioned having a mammogram, I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as you.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi Wendy,

I am being treated at the RM in both Sutton and Chelsea. I had clear cell endometrial cancer. How about you?

  • Hi. I had malignant grade 2. Invasive ductal cancer which required the top part of my breast to be removed and 3 lymphnodes followed by 15 radiotherapies

  • Well we are in the best hands x

  • Yes. Under marsden sutton.  All treatment done. Having weekly acupuncture at the moment courtesy of marsden as I have some side effects that are causing problems but could be helped by acupuncture. 3 sessions in at the moment..Mammogram follow up to check if things are still going in right direction in june

  • It's nice to have acupuncture. I was refused that. I'm at Sutton for external radiotherapy. I go there every day. I'm having oART adaptive tomotherapy so my side effects are few. It's only fatigue and some stomach cramping. Next week is my final week. I will do external on Monday and Friday at Sutton, and Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday will be internal in Chelsea. I'm so happy my treatment is almost over.

    Have you been to Maggie's?
