Hi I had a glossectomy 6 weeks ago, the swelling around my neck is still quite significant. I look like I have 2 chins and a bit lopsided. How long does this last? I’m due to have radiotherapy very soon and have been advised this also causes swelling, I’m dreading what on earth I will look like. Nobody has given me any exercises to do, if that is a thing or any medication to take to help. Anybody else had these issues please?
Hello Downhearted, a very warm welcome to the community, but I am very sorry you have the need to join.
I'm afraid I have no experience of your condition as my cancers have were in different areas. However we do have a specific forum just for head and neck which I would suggest you join and repost your questions there. I'm sure you'll soon receive some useful answers and information from the forum members on there.

What you describe is called lymphodema and is very common
Simple massage should help tremendously. If you check out my blog there is an entry there which will give you a start
