Just been diagnosed with stage 4 lung primary. Metastatic spread to brain x 2, liver x3, bone x3 lymph and potentially adrenal glands. The only symptoms  have and that I presented with are unsteadiness to one side and now tiredness.  Obviously for all of us to this group its a massive shock/blow.

The pain of seeing your loved ones go through this is more than I can bear. My daughter is due to give birth to her first baby in next couple of weeks.  I can't imagine not being wel and with her during labour (I'm a midwife too)

They think they have identified the type that may be suitable for targeted immunotherapy but waiting on a few more resultsfrom mung biopsy,  but now due to timing may not start for a couple of weeks. They have also mentioned doing some brain treatment tol.

How do you get past this time? Its only been 7 weeks since any symptoms began and my world has just completely imploded.

I know this outcome isn't going to be good. I just need some idea of time and success rate and how to cope til the next part

  • Hello SammyS, a warm welcome to the community but I'm very sorry you have the need to join us.

It is indeed a complete shock being diagnosed and, as you're experiencing, the first days and weeks are for most of us some of the most difficult due to the sudden shock, worry and uncertainty whilst tests are completed and a treatment plan formulated.

Could I suggest you place your post on the lung cancer community where you'll be able to connect with members at various stages of diagnosis and treatment who should be able answer your questions. I've put a link to this below.
