Hi. So grateful a community like this exists. I'm sure I'm gonna depend on it so much going forward.

My husband has just been told he has advanced and aggressive prostate cancer. A CT scan this week will confirm if it's spread to other body parts or not.

It's all happened so fast. Obvious symptoms only since October. I'm already reaching out to family, friends, GP and holistic therapies like massage and breath work to take care of mine and his wellbeing. Also focusing on nutrician. I he already joined the Prostate Cancer group and will be encouraging my husband to do likewise one he's finished his handover at work this week.

Any other group recommendations would be appreciated.

  • Hello

A warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community although I am so sorry to find you here. I am Brian one of the Community Champions here on the Community and am in the 4th year of my personal Prostate Cancer journey.

You say you have found and joined us on the Prostate Group however this isn't showing on your profile page so here's the link you need:

    Prostate cancer forum

Just click on the link I have provided and it will take you there. You can introduce yourself in the "New Here - Say Hello" section. If you are your husband's carer you can also join this group:

    Carers only forum

I look forward to "meeting" you again on the Prostate Group, in the meanwhile if you do have any issues in navigating the Community please do get back to me.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi

Welcome to our community, I hope you find it both informative and supportive.

Well done for joining the prostrate cancer group, there is a lot of support there around that type of cancer. Sounds like you have quite a lot of issues covered already but you might like to look at Family and friends forum and Carers only forum for you. Then we have Emotional support forum and The Room too.

You might also like to use our in your area tool that can hep find support near to you - sometimes helps if you use the hospital postcode too.

We also have some professional led groups on here such as Ask a Nurse

    <<hugs>>

    Steve
